Water quality standards

The term 'Water quality standards ' as it applies to the area of agriculture can be defined as ' State-adopted and the Environmental Protection Agency-approved ambient standards for water bodies. The standards prescribe the use of the water body and establish the water quality criteria that must be met to protect designated uses, and contain policies to protect against degradation of water quality once standards are attained and maintained'.
